Planning my very first garden
I cannot even cook because I am too excited about gardening. There is so much work to be done on all levels, but the challenge is looking quite fruitful. Perhaps literally. Although I think the only fruit we'll be able to grow here are strawberries in topsy turvies. Not too bad! Well you know, vegful as well. So far I am planning on using Seeds of Change for the vegetable seeds. They seem to be well-reviewed. Even though all of their product descriptions are strewn with vague god-loving language, I am willing to overlook this for delicious veggie plants.
Here are some of the plants to which I am most looking forward to...photos stolen from google.
Much more than these are part of my plan, but I'm psyched! This blog will then be used to document the different stages of the process. The roommates of Aldie will be very busy.

Hungarian Blue Breadseed Poppy: This flower grows pods full of poppyseeds!
Chioggia Beets from Italy
Hops!
Cayenne
Hopi Red Dye Amaranth, which can be used as a food dye, edible leaves, and seeds
Calendula/Marigold, an insect repellant with edible flowers that can also be used as food dye
Much more than these are part of my plan, but I'm psyched! This blog will then be used to document the different stages of the process. The roommates of Aldie will be very busy.
